Which LLM provider does Modulario use?
Modulario is not tied to a specific AI provider — the choice is up to the customer: • OpenAI (GPT-4/5) — by default • Anthropic Claude — for sensitive use cases (Claude has an explicit privacy policy against training) • Azure OpenAI — for EU data residency • Self-hosted Llama/Mistral — for full data control BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) is the standard — use your own API keys and pay the provider directly.
Does Modulario use our data to train AI models?
No. Modulario has contractual commitments with LLM providers against training on customer data (OpenAI Enterprise, Anthropic, Azure). For maximum certainty, we recommend Anthropic Claude via Bedrock or self-hosted models.
What is the AI Act and how does Modulario comply with it?
The AI Act (EU Regulation 2024/1689) governs AI systems in the EU. Modulario is AI Act compliant by design: • AI feature risk classification (most = minimal risk, some = limited risk) • Transparency: the user knows when they are talking to AI • Human-in-the-loop for decisions affecting individual rights • Audit log of AI actions • Option to disable AI per tenant • Prohibition of AI practices from AI Act Art. 5 (social scoring, manipulation)
Can we disable AI completely?
Yes. AI features are opt-in per tenant and per module. If needed, you can disable them entirely under Settings → AI. Suitable for clients with stricter internal policies.
What are the costs of AI features?
Modulario bills AI in two models: 1. Included in the implementation price (fair-use limit). 2. Pay-as-you-go — use your BYOK and pay the provider directly. Real-world costs: most customers spend 5–15 EUR/month on AI document extraction and AI fields.
